Pay Range: $162,729 - $224,596

The Plant Manager will manage and guide the Lead Team in achieving optimal plant performance while ensuring the safety of the people with direct responsibility for the operational & financial performance of the Monett Cast location. Responsible to guide the Lead Team in achieving optimal plant performance while ensuring the safety of the people.

What you will be doing

• Leads and coordinates production in accordance with policies, principles and procedures established by the Regional Leader
• Develops plans for efficient use of materials, machines and employees and guides day to day manufacturing operations across the facility.
• Confers with customers, suppliers, sales and others in the Company to evaluate performance of production and distribution
• Manages subordinate managers who supervise department managers/supervisors and employees as defined by our Organization Chart. For example, this may include HSE, HR, Plant Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Casting Operations, Materials Management and Supply Chain. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units
• Responsible for own health, security and safety and shall cooperate and contribute to the creation of a safe, secure and healthy working environment and to the achievement of the Company’s safety and environmental obligations and goals
• Evaluates and performs functions of staffing, quality, delivery, unit production and cost of manufacturing
• Fosters an environment which allows responsible departments to interact and develop processes and procedures which promote continuous improvement.
• Works directly with the plant engineering and maintenance and assists in proper preventive maintenance programs and improvement in environmental control.
• Approves requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies within limits of the locations operating budget.
• Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
• Responsible for the growth and development of manufacturing talent in area of responsibility.
• Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the Location.
• Benchmark with other plants within HALNA and the industry in order to evaluate performance of the plant
• Recommends budgets and capital requests to management
• Resolve employee complaints and grievances and promotes healthy labour management practices
• Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and defining training requirements; planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, conducting HLDP reviews, addressing complaints and resolving problems
• Directs and sets objectives with the team to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting based upon status and conditions.
• Confers and cooperates with other management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures.
• Approves requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies within limits of department budget.
• Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
• Responsible for the growth and development of manufacturing talent in area of responsibility.
• Other duties as assigned

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:
• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ manufacturing management experience
• A degree in Industrial Engineering and Business, or a minimum of 10 years’ related experience and training
• Strong leadership experience, managing large teams preferably in industrial environments
• 30% - travel to region meetings, BRMs, ENA plant visits

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
• Financial acumen
• Knowledge of ISO/QS standards
• Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations proven through prior work experiences
• Over five years’ proven experience to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public, as well as written reports, business correspondence, and procedures
• Over five years’ proven experience to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
• Must read and understand all work and safety instructions relevant to their specific area of responsibility
• Fluency in English is required, all other languages an asset
