The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including production, safety, quality, maintenance, staffing, and operational efficiency. This leadership role ensures the facility operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company objectives while driving continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high standards of productivity and customer service.
Lead and manage daily plant operations to ensure production goals, quality standards, and customer expectations are met.
Oversee production scheduling, staffing, inventory management, and operational workflows.
Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost control.
Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including OSHA standards.
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the facility.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to drive performance improvements.
Manage plant budgets, labor costs, and operational expenses.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, managers, and plant personnel.
Support employee engagement, retention, and workforce development initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
Coordinate with supply chain, logistics, quality, and customer service teams to ensure smooth operational execution.
Conduct regular operational reviews, audits, and performance evaluations.
Manage vendor and contractor relationships as needed.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
7+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or industrial operations.
3+ years of plant or operations management experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of production operations, safety standards, and process improvement methodologies.
Experience managing large teams in fast-paced operational environments.
Proven ability to drive operational efficiency and improve performance metrics.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and operational management systems.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement programs.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Experience with ERP, WMS, or production management systems.
