Job Description

Al Jomaih Energy & Water (AEW) headquartered in Saudi Arabia, is a fast-growing investor, lead develper, and operator of utility and infrastructure projects in various geographical markets such as KSA, GCC, Asia & North Africa, with investments in 6 GW of Conventional and Solar power plants, and around 700,000 m3/day of water.

Consortium of Al Jomaih Energy and Water Co. Ltd. (JENWA), EDF, Ajlan & Bros. and Buhur for Investment Company is developing new gas fired CCGT power plants on a build, own and operate (“BOO”) basis. The Taiba 2 IPP and Qassim 2 IPP shall comprise all facilities necessary for the generation of power with a total net capacity of 1,980 MW each at Reference Site Conditions. The Initial Commercial Operation Date (ICOD) is 31 May 2026 and Scheduled Project Commercial Operation Date (SCOD) is 31 May 2027. Each Project Company will sell the power capacity and output of the Plant to SPPC under 25-year PPA.

Responsible for leading the full operation and maintenance of a 1,980 MW CCGT power plant (Taiba 2) the Plant Manager will ensure readiness, compliance, staff management, and performance reporting under a 25-year PPA with SPPC, reporting directly to the O&M Board.

Requirements

Your Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities)

Design Review, Construction and Commissioning period support to Owner.

Ensure Operational Readiness before takeover from Owner/EPC.

Staff Mobilization, training, and support of the O & M staff

Establish plant policies and procedures and implement CMMS.

Obtain all consents, permits, approvals and licenses.

Search and selection of suppliers. Order and manage inventory of materials and supplies.

Lead and oversee operation and maintenance of the Power Plant adhering to HSE and

& M Agreement.

Develop and manage the Annual and Long-term Operating Plan and ensure reliability, profitability and operational efficiency.

Budget preparation, monthly analysis of O & M revenues & expenses and required mitigations.

Comply with the accounting principles and maintain proper books and records in accordance with Legal Requirements

Schedule and prioritize tasks effectively.

Maintain a safe working environment.

Risk Management

Contracts & Compliance Management

Delegation of Authority.

Identification of opportunities to enhance revenues and profit margins.

Provide monthly and annual reports about plant performance, incidents, failures, and the general

operation and maintenance activities developed in the Plant.

Report accurately and timely to the Board/Owner and maintain regular communication.

Develop and nurture strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including lenders, contract counterparties, insurers, partners, suppliers, OEM companies, and regulatory/government authorities.

Establish and maintain community relations.

Qualifications & Skill Sets

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably Mechanical or Electrical discipline or equivalent.
  • Minimum 20 years of total professional experience
  • 15+ years in O&M of Combined Cycle Power Plants
  • 10+ years in Senior Management roles
  • Gas Turbine LTSA/LTPA/Co-ordination Agreements management
  • Project Agreements Administration (PPA, O & M Agreement, Site lease, Interconnection etc.)
  • Proficiency in IT (Windows, Maintenance and Materials Management System)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, team management, and coordination skills.
