Job Description

We are looking for a Plant Manager for our repack and fulfillment facility in Mishawaka, IN. The Manager will lead all operational activities including receiving, repackaging, quality, warehousing, and distribution functions.

The Plant Manager ensures safe, efficient, and high quality execution of all distribution center operations, driving productivity, inventory accuracy, workflow optimization, customer satisfaction, and team leadership.

Initial operations will typically run one day shift, Monday through Friday, but may change based on customer needs and program growth.

KEY SKILL AREAS & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP & WORKFLOW OPTIMIZATION

Skills: Lean warehousing, workflow design, process optimization, critical thinking, problem solving

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of the operation including receiving, warehousing, repack, quality, and distribution activities.
  • Monitor and adjust labor, workflow, equipment use, and set ups to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Utilize lean principles to improve throughput, accuracy, and employee satisfaction.
  • Support initial program launch and future program onboarding.
  1. SAFETY, FACILITY MANAGEMENT & COMPLIANCE:

Critical Skills: safety practices, accountability, regulatory compliance, facility maintenance, 6S

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, well organized, functional, and safe facility and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with company expectations, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Meet all safety and training requirements and provide additional training as needed.
  • Lead by example.
  1. INVENTORY, QUALITY & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

Critical Skills: inventory control, quality oversight, analytical decision making, change management

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory accuracy, product quality, and adherence to customer standards.
  • Modify warehouse, production, and inventory control practices to enhance operations and profitability.
  • Implement continuous improvement practices to optimize throughput and accuracy.
  • Manage facility financials, budgeting, and cost control – and achieve profitability objectives.
  • Track and report KPIs including productivity, P&L/budget, work quality, and inventory accuracy.
  1. CUSTOMER, SUPPLIER & CARRIER ENGAGEMENT

Critical Skills: communication, relationship building, vendor coordination

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with customers and suppliers, with a strong customer focus.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with customers, suppliers, carriers, and other company personnel.
  • Represent the facility in operational discussions, problem resolution, and program reviews.
  1. WORKFORCE LEADERSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT

Skills required: interviewing, training, coaching, leadership, conflict resolution, motivation, discipline

Responsibilities

  • Effectively interview, select, and onboard team members.
  • Ensure clear expectations, training, and continuous development of the team.
  • Provide visible and daily team leadership.
  • Provide effective team leadership and demonstrate hands-on productivity improvement, customer satisfaction and employee involvement and empowerment.
  • Foster a positive culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations and customer needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Program, people and facility leadership
  • New program or facility launch
  • Packaging, kitting and/or repack operations
  • Microsoft Office and basic operational systems proficiency
  • Candidates must be willing and able to wear steel toe safety boots as required in the facility.
  • Degree in business, supply chain, or related field – desired
