Job Description

Printpack is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Plant Manager. The Plant Manager will be based at the Jackson, TN, plant and will report to the Director, Manufacturing.

The Plant Manager is responsible for providing leadership to the daily safety, production, and maintenance operations of the plant and for driving continuous improvement in the areas of safety, waste, quality, and productivity. A key responsibility is the overall leadership of the plant to further an environment conducive to high levels of teamwork, unity, and associate engagement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Prior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • High character/integrity

Plant Manager Responsibilities:

  • Model the Printpack Core Values and Expectations of our Leaders, including Respect for People, Customer Focus, and Continuous Improvement.
  • Provide overall plant leadership that creates an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration among all functions both inside and outside the facility.
  • Foster an environment of unity and associate engagement where individual associates are valued, empowered to improve their work processes, and gain personal fulfillment through their work.
  • Support a culture of safety within the plant and ensure all plant safety policies and procedures are followed.
  • Exhibit a customer-centric attitude and maintain plant-wide focus on quality, service, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead/Support the production, quality, and maintenance functions to maximize plant and business unit profitability, and to achieve plant and company objectives.
  • Improve upon existing procedures and standards, or initiate new ones, to ensure associate safety, maximize productivity, quality and service, and minimize waste.
  • Ensure all company and local policies are consistently followed.
  • Facilitate the professional and personal development of all direct reports, including providing appropriate feedback.
  • As a member of the Plant Leadership Team (PLT), help to drive overall business unit performance improvements and provide general leadership to organization-wide initiatives.
  • Implement manufacturing strategies and action plans that support the business goals for the plant and Printpack’s strategic initiatives.
  • Manage productivity, quality, waste, and safety initiatives.
  • Manage and improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes.
  • Schedule stability that allows for maximum return on efficiencies with the highest possible level of service.
  • Create a work environment that encourages associates to participate in problem-solving activities and provide constructive input and action items.
  • Support the teamwork of all internal departments working effectively together to achieve external customer satisfaction.
  • Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Operational excellence experience is strongly preferred
  • Lean manufacturing experience
  • College degree – or equivalent experience
