Job Description

Responsible for the efficient, safe, and profitable operation of the plant, in order to meet the SBU plan objectives. Advise and recommend to the SBU General Manager all the necessary requirements to enable the plant to meet required objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Formulate plant budgets and cost objectives; initiate and implement action that will meet the plant goals in direct labor, scrap and expenses.
  • Implement improvements of manufacturing processes and methods to achieve planned cost reductions, high quality levels.
  • Establish and maintain required Production Control techniques that result in attaining planned levels of inventory shipments and customer delivery service.
  • Increase productivity of management personnel through the principles of responsibility, accountability and merit review. Execute detailed plans for the recruitment, training and promotion of select personnel.
  • Maintain ongoing plant capacity statistics, implementing the necessary action to solve manufacturing bottlenecks. Appropriate and install capital equipment on a timely basis.
  • Implement required planning and action necessary to enable plants to meet standards on pollution, safety and housekeeping.
  • Develop solutions to enhance the long-term success of the business.
  • Use financial and market indicators to identify areas of concern, recognizes opportunities for greater profitability and revenue generation, demonstrates understanding of key economic principles (i.e., supply and demand), understands factors that drive competitive analysis, and understands key economic principles that impact business.
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge in the profession and industry; is regarded as an expert in the technical/functional area; accesses and uses other expert resources when appropriate; brings cross-disciplinary knowledge to bear on issues and problems.
