Job Summary:
Jacobs Gas in Fort Myers, FL is seeking an experienced and motivated Plant Manager. The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the plant, directly supporting business development of the area, and ensuring the operations are running efficiently, profitably, effectively, and safely. The plant manager’s duties include overall responsibility in routing and scheduling of deliveries and service work, new construction projects and any related permit process oversight, managing inventory, ensuring plant safety and compliance with environmental regulations, and managing budgets and financial reports. Additionally, they are responsible for implementing continuous improvement initiatives, developing and maintaining relationships with customers and vendors, and collaborating with other departments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Personnel Management:
This position will directly supervise employees within the Ft Myers and Bonita Springs locations
Recruits, hires, and trains employees based on criteria agreed upon by senior management
Duties will include managing tasks, staff meetings, development programs and management reports
Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team
Plant Performance:
Responsible for overall profit and loss financial performance with focus on safety, profitability, growth, efficiencies, and exceptional customer service
Oversee day-to-day operations within the area including continuous awareness with regular in-person training
Manage disaster relief services including operational support of customer sites
Directly support and lead customer experience and growth goals in coordination with sales, marketing and management
Responsible for overall delivery and service work scheduling and efficiency
Directly support resource needs for and oversee timely completion of new construction projects.
Directly involved with supporting builder and contractor relationships
Responsible for implementing and executing company initiatives
Coordinate and implement all safety initiatives as directed by the company safety committee
Responsible for the coordination of fleet maintenance, safety records, DOT files/records and overall plant/asset compliance using company fleet management and compliance
Monitor and implement all safety practices as regarded by regulatory agencies and company policies
Provides feedback to senior management regarding region performance including competitor information
Maintain adequate systems knowledge and provide systems support to plant
Responsible for inventory management and pricing programs
Meet or exceed budget revenue guidelines and control expenses to meet or exceed budget requirements
Evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly plant reporting as required by senior management and ensure that functions at each plant are performed as required
Responsible for accounts receivable for the area
Adhere with all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team
Coordinate with management on equipment needs and repairs including procurement forecasting and asset optimization
Customer Service:
Ensure area personnel provide timely and professional responses to all customer inquiries
Resolves customer problems by clarifying customer concerns; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution
Responsible for achieving acceptable customer positive reviews on review platform
Ensure personnel understands and promotes our company services and inside sales strategies
Ensure the plant has continuous improvement on customer data and current information

QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities:
Ability to obtain propane license within 90 days of employment.
Proven leadership with the ability to motivate and coach a team
Ability to speak clearly, professionally, and eloquently, while using active listening skills
Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints
Ability to handle multiple demands at one time
Proficient in the current Microsoft Office Suite
Education, Certification, Licenses:
An associate’s degree or high school diploma/GED with five to ten years relatable experience in home service and/or energy industry
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
CDL A with hazmat and tanker endorsements (preferred but not required)
Physical, Mental, Behavioral Requirements:

Regularly and safely lifts, carries, and handles supplies and equipment weighing at least 20 - 80 pounds
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch
Must pass pre-employment screening and background check
Position will require working evening hours and weekends as needed including weather and emergency events
