Summary

Do you want to be a part of an award-winning team with a vital role in the community? We are hiring a Plant Maintenance Engineer. This person supervises the overall maintenance program of wastewater treatment plants and lift stations, including preventative maintenance and inventory control, developing plans for equipment needs and emergency situations, and providing technical support for electrical and electronic equipment and instrumentation.

Here are some quick facts about our Southwest Wastewater Treatment Plant:

  • Average 35 million gallons per day (MGD) flow
  • Design treatment capacity 64 MGD
  • Peak treatment capacity 100 MGD
  • Advanced tertiary treatment facility with:
  • Staffed 24 hours per day/ 365 days per year by Operation, Maintenance, Laboratory & Support Staff personnel
  • Governed by EPA and MoDNR (Clean Water Act)
  • Produce a High Quality Effluent with no negative impact on the environment
  • Award winning facility - NACWA Platinum 20 awards

Examples of duties

Experience, Education, and Training

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering;

AND

  • Three years of experience in the maintenance of a wastewater or water treatment plant or similar industrial facility;
  • Directly related work experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Licensing/Certification

  • A Class "A" Wastewater Operator's Certificate and PE is preferred, but not required;
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.
