We are looking for experienced site professionals to assess and approve plant operators on a major international project in Finland.

This is a specialist role where your judgement and experience directly influence site safety, compliance, and operational standards.

We are looking for individuals who understand what good plant operation looks like in practice. This role goes beyond traditional assessment and is suited to those with backgrounds in plant machinery, health and safety, construction, or heavy industry who can confidently evaluate whether an operator is competent, safe, and working to the required standard.

You do not need to be a qualified assessor. Full training will be provided on the assessment framework, processes, and documentation. What matters most is your practical experience, attention to detail, and ability to make clear, fair, and consistent decisions in a live site environment.

This role would suit someone looking to step into a more senior, responsibility-driven position while gaining valuable international project experience.

Essential Requirements

• Valid EU or EEA citizenship
• Full driving licence
• Previous experience in one or more of the following:
  • Plant machinery operator (excavators, dumpers, telehandlers, etc.)
  • Plant fitter or plant mechanic
  • Health & Safety role within construction or heavy industry
  • Construction supervisor, foreman, or site-based leadership role
  • Heavy industry or plant hire environment experience
• Strong understanding of plant machinery and safe site operations
• Willingness to work on rotation or relocate to Finland

Key Responsibilities
Operator Evaluation and Judgement

• Observe plant machinery operators on live construction sites
• Identify whether operators are working safely, competently, and professionally
• Assess machine control, hazard awareness, site behaviour, and adherence to safe systems of work
• Make clear, objective decisions on operator suitability

Assessment Process and Documentation

• Learn and follow the employer’s assessment process and standards
• Complete assessment forms, reports, and sign-off documentation accurately
• Maintain clear, auditable records of all observations and decisions

Site and Team Interaction

• Work on active sites in Finland alongside international teams
• Communicate clearly with site management and operators
• Provide professional, factual feedback where required
• Represent the employer to a high standard on-site

Qualifications / Background

You do not need to be a formal assessor already. We are keen to hear from people with experience such as:

• Plant machinery operators
• Plant fitters or plant mechanics
• Health and Safety officers or advisors within construction or heavy industry
• Construction workers, supervisors, or foremen
• Site-based professionals with strong plant and safety knowledge

Requirements

• Strong understanding of plant machinery operation and safe site practices
• Ability to judge competence and unsafe behaviour confidently and fairly
• Willingness to learn a structured assessment and reporting process
• Comfortable with paperwork and documentation
• Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented
• Able to work independently on site
• Willing to work on rotation or relocate to Finland
• Full driving licence

Experience with some or all of the below is beneficial:

• Excavators
• Dumpers (articulated and forward tipping)
• Telehandlers
• Loading shovels
• Rollers
• MEWPs / access platforms
• Heavy or specialist construction plant
