  • 8 hour shift

Qualifications

The Plant Support Specialist’s primary function is to provide equipment support and safety for all production equipment within the plant

Essential Functions

  • Report to work on time and in uniform.
  • Operate a variety of production equipment during peak volume.
  • Troubleshoot and fix mechanical and electrical equipment breakdowns.
  • Install and maintain Cognex Machine Vision systems.
  • Perform equipment validation to ensure accurate functioning.
  • Equipment movement/relocation to maximize production space efficiency.
  • Use AutoCAD to design and manufacture parts for the equipment.
  • Environmental Health and Safety Management of Waste Streams.
  • Complete annual asset management and Corporate EH&S quarterly Reports.
  • Oversee safety and maintenance on all equipment.
  • Training of other co-workers as needed for production demands.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by Lead/Supervisor/Manager.

Work Environment

The employee could be exposed to fumes, airborne particles and print chemicals involved in a printing environment. Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level is moderately loud.

Physical Demands - The following physical qualifications must be met to perform the essential functions of this job:

 Ability to bend, reach, crawl, twist and lift at least 50 pounds unassisted is required.

 The ability to remain in a standing position for long periods of time is required.

 The ability to see, hear, count, measure, read and follow verbal directives in English is required. The ability to differentiate colors, horizontal and vertical positions is required.

 The ability to utilize fine motor skills while working on sensitive machinery is essential.

 The ability to perform repetitive upper body motions is required.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Must be flexible with hours and work overtime when needed.

Required Education/Experience

Extensive knowledge of printing production and general manufacturing is required.

Basic electronics understanding is required.

Experience with safety programs in a manufacturing environment is required.

Preferred Education and Experience

A four year degree in a computer science field is preferred.
