Job Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot and resolve OT issues with HMIs, industrial networks, and control systems
• Support our PSI Metals MES implementation and ongoing operations
• Manage escalations from operators and Levels 1 and 2 support when things get complicated
• Collaborate with vendors, integrators, and the Plant OT teams on control system projects and
upgrades
• Maintain and document OT infrastructure (network diagrams, equipment configs, procedures)
• Support our Unified Namespace architecture as we converge IT and OT systems
• Manage plant network infrastructure, servers, and industrial computing hardware
• Participate in equipment installations, upgrades, and preventive maintenance
• Balance emergency response with planned project work
• Train operators and Level 1 support on systems and basic troubleshooting Office printer,
Industrial printer (Zebra) and Mobile Device Support (Zebra)
• Monitors and maintains servers; installs system and applications software and patches.
• Provides network and general hardware/software user support.
• Fields user helpdesk requests: tests, troubleshoots, and resolve hardware related issues
• Provides routine database management support; adds users, sets up access; restores system
to resolve problems if needed.
• Provides general hardware/software/network support to plant site users.
• Configures and installs new PC hardware and software.
• Instructs users on how to resolve software application and operating system problems.
• Administers active directory; unlocks and extends network accounts; resolves printing
problems; configures printers and print queues.
• Setup and modify phones in Cisco WebEx Calling Administration.
• Performs routine hardware maintenance; troubleshoots projection equipment.
• Hardware procurement for computers, components, and peripherals.
• Provides technology training and documentation related to Office 365, VPN, Teams, operating
systems, virus protection, etc.
• Maintains backups and images for workstations, laptops, servers, etc.
• Assist with installations, tests, troubleshooting, and repairs network hardware, including
routers, switches, etc.; works closely with corporate networking teams and coordinates with
vendors as needed.
• Setup/Maintain IP Camera systems
• Installs, repairs, and tests and terminates ethernet, profinet, and fiber optics (fusion splicing)
• Troubleshoot/repair legacy applications
Qualifications
• B.S Information Systems or related field preferred
• 3-5 years’ hands-on experience with industrial control systems in a manufacturing environment
• Two (2) years of network or systems administration experience
• Working knowledge of industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, OPC)
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity in OT environments
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing plant environment (heat, noise, heights)
• Available for occasional off-hours support when production needs help
• Understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) a plus
• Working knowledge of OT devices
• Working knowledge of network infrastructure including switches, cabling, fiber optics
• Working knowledge of Operation Systems, Office 365, system backup/imaging
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Basic understanding of SQL databases, connections, and queries
• Basic understanding of virtualization, ESXI, VMWare Workstation
• Basic understanding of Linux operating systems
Nice to have skills (But we can work with you)
• Experience in metals manufacturing or continuous process industries Familiarity with MES
systems (PSI Metals is a bonus)
• Background with data historians or industrial IoT platforms
• Knowledge of MQTT or other messaging protocols for industrial data
• Understanding of ISA-95 or similar manufacturing standards
• Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms (FactoryTalk, WinCC, Ignition, etc.)
• Understanding of PLC programming and troubleshooting (ladder logic, function blocks)
• Understanding of legacy phone systems (punch down blocks, toning, troubleshooting)
