Job Title: Plant HR Manager

Business Entity Shree Mahavir Metalcraft Pvt. Ltd. (ASSA ABLOY Group Company)

Location: Jamnagar, Gujarat

Reports to: Functionally to Director & Head of HR - SAARC and Administratively to Director & head of SMI

ASSA ABLOY India is looking for a seasoned Plant HR Head for its manufacturing unit in Jamnagar. The incumbent will serve as a change agent — reinforcing company culture, championing right behaviours, and driving end-to-end talent management at the plant level.

Key Responsibilities

  1. HR Operations & Compliance
    1. Ensure hygiene and full compliance of HR operations aligned with ASSA ABLOY group standards and local legislation
    2. Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing and all statutory compliance obligations
    3. Manage HR audits and maintain 100% compliance with global company policies
    4. Liaise with government bodies including factory inspectors, labour departments, and local authorities as required
    5. Oversee general administration — housekeeping, canteen operations, and plant security
  2. Employee Lifecycle Management
    1. Ensure global standards across all stages of the employee lifecycle — talent acquisition, induction, performance management, learning & development, and engagement
    2. Establish and maintain a strong shop floor presence to stay connected with ground realities
    3. Manage and mitigate employee grievances by building open communication channels across all levels
  3. Culture & Engagement
    1. Drive cultural assimilation initiatives and foster a strong sense of belonging across the plant workforce
    2. Build trusted relationships with cross-functional teams and all levels of employees
    3. Cascade and support HR-related initiatives that promote a positive, high-performance work environment
  4. Business Partnership & Leadership Development
    1. Understand the business strategy and partner with stakeholders to drive and sustain optimum employee productivity
    2. Mentor and guide plant leadership to effectively manage performance and build a pipeline of future leaders
    3. Support the Plant Operations Head in driving Employee Health, Safety & Environment initiatives
  5. MIS & Reporting
    1. Maintain and report accurate HR MIS on a timely basis to relevant stakeholders

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong change management capabilities with proven ability to influence without direct authority
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high responsiveness
  • Self-motivated, ownership-driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • High standards of work ethics, professional integrity, and deadline discipline
  • Strong command over MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and HRMS platforms such as SAP / SuccessFactors.

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources / MBA – HR / Master of Social Work (MSW)
  • Minimum 10 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a plant HR leadership role
  • Prior experience in a matrix organisation with cross-cultural stakeholder management
