About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Plant Fitter to join our team. This role involves the maintenance, repair and inspection of a wide range of plant machinery, ensuring all equipment is safe, compliant and ready for hire or site use.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on plant equipment (e.g. excavators, dumpers, telehandlers)
Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs in a timely manner
Conduct pre-delivery inspections and prepare machinery for hire
Maintain accurate service and repair records
Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations
Keep the workshop and yard clean, organised and safe
Requirements
Proven experience as a Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic or similar role
Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge
Ability to diagnose and repair faults independently
Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ/City & Guilds in Plant Maintenance or similar) preferred
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Good communication and teamwork skills
Desirable Skills
Experience working with a range of construction plant equipment
Welding and fabrication skills
Knowledge of electrical systems
