Your Job

As Plant Controller, you will serve as the finance leader for our Busbar manufacturing operation in Monee, IL, partnering with plant leadership to drive profitable growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation. You will provide financial stewardship through ownership of financial reporting, forecasting, cost accounting, performance management, and investment analysis, while delivering insights that support strategic and day-to-day business decisions.

In order to comply with U.S. export control laws and regulations, this position requires applicants to either provide proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status or be eligible to receive an export authorization (a license) under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or the Export Administration Regulations.

What You Will Do

Financial Reporting, Control & Performance Management

  • Own the monthly financial close process, including management reporting, variance analysis and executive reporting packages with plant lead team and Corporate consolidation team. Provide actionable explanations and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and governance processes to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Lead standard costing processes, including annual cost rate development, overhead absorption, labor rates, material costing, and reconciliation of standard costs to actual results.
  • Analyze and explain manufacturing variances, including PPV, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, inventory adjustments, and productivity performance.
  • Oversee tariff recovery, duty management, and product cost absorption to ensure accurate profitability reporting.
  • Lead the annual operating plan and 12 months rolling forecast.
  • Develop, track, and communicate key operational and financial KPIs, including productivity, labor efficiency, inventory performance, asset utilization, gross margin, and cash flow metrics.

Business Partnership & Operational Finance

  • Act as the primary finance business partner to plant leadership, providing real-time financial insights and recommendations to support operational decision-making.
  • Drive business performance by supporting revenue growth, gross profit expansion, working capital optimization, and operational productivity improvements.
  • Lead customer profitability reviews and support Capex investment Decision Making Framework (such as DCF sensitivity models) and commercial (sales and procurement) negotiations through robust financial analysis.
  • Partner with engineering and operations teams to optimize quotation models, validate cost structures, and improve product profitability.
  • Support Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives through financial modeling, cost-benefit analysis, and ROI assessments.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team focused on business partnership, financial excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Build organizational capabilities through mentoring, succession planning, and development of future finance leaders.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning across the finance organization.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive finance experience.
  • Strong expertise in standard costing, manufacturing accounting, variance analysis, and inventory management.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting manufacturing operations as a finance business partner.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.


What Will Put You Ahead

  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Experience working effectively with plant leadership, engineering, supply chain, commercial teams, and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience with business analysis and data visualization tools (i.e. Power BI, Tableau, VBA, Hyperion, SQL etc.)
  • Process Improvement / Process Transformation / Process Implementation experience

For this role, we anticipate paying $120,000 - $140,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
