Plant Engineer

Mpumalanga

R1,5 Mil-R1.7 Mil CTC

Plant Engineer will be responsible to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize various equipment that drive processes in a plant with a strong emphasis on process improvement and plant maintenance, whilst, maintaining a strong safety and environmental compliance focus for plant and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent, and commercial training.
  • Government Certificate of Competency (GCC) Factories
  • 15 years experience as a Plant Engineer in a power plant/utilities environment
  • Experience with Boilers, Steam Systems and Power Plant and Equipent

  • Key Performance Outputs
  • Develop strategies for the Engineering Department in line with O&M strategy.
  • Develop and ensure the implementation of Engineering department work instructions, policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
  • Proactively reduce breakdowns, ensure effective plant preventative maintenance and plant improvements to deliver above target plant reliability.
  • and assess planned maintenance activities to verify that it is carried out effectively. Physically observe maintenance team on planned maintenance tasks when required. Review PM reports and schedule and revise frequencies and plan interventions to prevent breakdowns.
  • Provide input into major breakdowns and analyse all breakdowns with maintenance team to determine root cause and determine requirements to implementation of corrective/preventive measures.
