Plant Design Engineer E3D
Valmet Tissue sells and delivers Tissue mills to the global market. An important part of this is the Plant design engineering of the Mill where process design is converted into a virtual 3D-model. This virtual model is utilized to create manufacturing and installation drawings, quantification of sourcing need and coordination and input for civil engineering. Another important part of the Plant design is to ensure optimization of design and resource efficiency, operational functionality, access for installation and maintenance. And most importantly to enable safety during installation, operation and maintenance.
Plant Design Engineer shall assist our Discipline leaders for Plant for safe, efficient and successful execution of global Tissue mill projects.
About the Role
The role of Plant Design Engineer is primarily active during basic and detail engineering in the project execution of delivery projects towards customers.
It also contains tasks that focus on development of engineering way-to-operate (WTO) and engineering modules. This is done in development projects or embedded in project execution of delivery projects towards customers.
Responsibility
The Plant Design engineer is responsible for ensuring that the documentation used for specific project delivery is correct and in accordance with current instructions and guidelines.
The Plant Design engineer is responsible for ensuring that the work is carried out in accordance with the time and financial frameworks given.
The Plant Design engineer is responsible for ensuring that engineering results are documented in dedicated systems according to valid guidelines.
The Plant Design Engineer responsibility of work includes following services and hardware related engineering tasks:
Extended Basic Engineering in delivery projects according to scope of supply included in technical specification Mill Engineering of delivery project.
The extended basic engineering is on a high level to prepare the 3D-engineering model for the Detail engineering. This includes, but not limited to:
Initiate database in E3D including pipe specification, backing sheets and other system settings.
Prepare for detail engineering by adding standard or typical equipment models and engineering modules.
Engineering of tank models in E3D
Implementing civil design into E3D by import of civil engineering information from customers during engineering phase.
In development projects, develop engineering modules and engineering WTO in E3D as well as interfaces between E3D and other PLM systems.
Engineering results are documented in dedicated systems according to valid guidelines.
Basic requirements of the position
University degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 3 years for degree and 5 years for Diploma.
Have worked in projects with plant engineering (using Aveva E3D) for industrial deliveries.
Aveva E3D competence for layout, equipment and piping engineering.
Experience from multi-disciplinary engineering projects and engineering in pulp and paper projects.
Some site experience such as inspection, supervision or commissioning services is preferred.
Individual contributor, taking own initiatives and collaborate with discipline leaders and line manager.
Reporting
In line organization the Plant design engineer reports to manager for Plant Design.
In addition to the line organization the Plant Design engineer will work in different project roles where cooperation and reporting has an additional primary layer of managing the work and reporting.
In delivery projects the Plant Design Engineer cooperates and reports to Discipline leader Plant.
