Job Summary

Turn financial insight into stronger manufacturing performance.

As Plant Controller, you’ll lead the financial management of our human plasma-based medicines manufacturing site. This hands-on role is ideal for an experienced manufacturing finance professional who enjoys being close to the operation, understanding what drives performance, and translating financial data into better business decisions.

You’ll partner across Operations, Production, Procurement, Quality, EHS, and site leadership to strengthen cost management, improve operational performance, and support strategic savings initiatives. You’ll have broad ownership across site finance, including monthly close, budgeting and forecasting, inventory accounting, manufacturing performance analysis, and financial reporting.

You’ll also collaborate closely with headquarters stakeholders in Italy, helping maintain financial alignment, reporting transparency, and consistency with global corporate guidelines.

What you'll do

  • Lead the monthly financial close, ensuring accurate reporting, effective financial controls, and alignment with corporate accounting standards.
  • Own annual budgeting, forecasting, rolling estimates, and operational financial reviews.
  • Analyze manufacturing performance, including labor efficiency, production yields, overhead absorption, inventory, material costs, and key variances.
  • Translate financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights that support site leadership and business decisions.
  • Partner with Operations and Production to understand performance drivers, identify opportunities for improvement, and strengthen operational efficiency.
  • Work with Procurement on vendor transactions, purchase-order workflows, material valuation, and raw-material cost management.
  • Collaborate with Quality on inventory reserves, disposal reviews, and financial policies supporting regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with EHS to evaluate the financial impact of safety, compliance, environmental, and facility investments.
  • Oversee balance-sheet reconciliations, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and site financial reporting.
  • Serve as a trusted finance partner to site leadership, providing financial perspective on cost-saving and operational-efficiency initiatives.
  • Apply expertise in standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and performance drivers.
  • Maintain strong financial alignment and regular communication with headquarters stakeholders in Italy.

Qualifications and need-to-know

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of progressive financial management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing variance analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency with SAP financial modules, including vendor and inventory transaction workflows.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Melville, New York plant four days per week.
