Job Description

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Controller to join the Pass & Seymour Team in Concord, NC. The position will support manufacturing operations in Concord, North Carolina. The Plant Controller is responsible for the day-to-day financial and operational support for the Concord, NC facility. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial activities of the plant, monthly accounting close, productivity reviews, financial reporting, and internal controls for Concord, NC.

  • Provide financial support and analysis to the business on operational issues, such as freight, packaging, capital expenditures, logistics, inventory, and insource/outsource activities. Help drive cost reductions and improve productivity. Identify cost reduction opportunities and partner with operations to achieve results.
  • Prepare financial projections based on current sales and production forecasts. Compare estimates to prior year and budget. Work with the Director of Operations and Plant Managers to address negative trends and drive positive results.
  • Coordinate capital expenditures for the Pass & Seymour business and ensure that current assets are maintained in the accounting system(s). Track spending on new projects and ensure additions, deletions, and transfers are recorded and reported appropriately.
  • Work with the EWS Finance Team to complete the monthly accounting close and monthly financial analysis package. Review variances and reconcile account balances. Identify and correct control weaknesses, ensuring proper controls are in place in all areas of the operation.
  • Various job duties/responsibilities and special projects as required.
  • Coordinate quarterly and annual activities such as forecasting, budgeting, and completing the cost roll-up for the Pass & Seymour business.

Education:

  • BS in Accounting or Finance with an MBA or CPA desired.

Experience:

  • 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in Finance and accounting management (i.e., controller, assistant controller, finance/accounting manager).
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Public accounting experience is a plus.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Strong financial control background and demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills. Demonstrated good judgment, well-developed business ethics, integrity, and consultancy skills.
  • Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel, Access, and related financial software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and conflict resolution skills required. Ability to communicate persuasively and effectively and manage multiple priorities in an intense, deadline-driven environment.
