Plant Controller – Role Overview

The Plant Controller is a key member of the plant leadership team, responsible for driving financial performance and maximizing plant profitability. This role provides critical financial insights, ensures accurate reporting, and supports operational decision-making.

This opportunity is open across multiple plant locations, offering flexibility and the chance to support different manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis & Performance Management

  • Analyze and forecast manufacturing variances to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Partner with plant management to drive productivity savings aligned with budget commitments
  • Develop and maintain cost standards for all manufactured products

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the preparation and coordination of departmental and plant-wide budgets and forecasts
  • Oversee the annual capital budget, including financial justification, expenditure tracking, and ROI analysis

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly close activities and reporting deadlines
  • Maintain accurate records of plant assets, liabilities, and financial transactions in compliance with corporate policies
  • Support corporate reporting requirements in collaboration with leadership

Inventory & Audit Oversight

  • Provide financial oversight during physical inventory counts
  • Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance and accuracy

Operational Support

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support plant operations and financial decision-making
  • Perform additional duties as required to support business objectives

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing accounting or plant controlling
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to travel occasionally

Preferred

  • Experience with SAP
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CGMA
