Job Description

The Plant Controller is responsible for managing and controlling all financial aspects of the manufacturing plants in Belgium, Romania and the USA. This role ensures accurate reporting of plant performance, cost control, compliance with accounting standards, and provides financial insights to drive operational efficiency. The Plant Controller acts as the key business partner to the Site General Manager and Finance Manager and local leadership team.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Costing Reporting and Analysis

• Lead the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual plant financial statements.

• Lead the plant’s budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with corporate timelines and targets.

• Manage and monitor standard costing, including updates to routings, labor, and material rates.

• Analyse variances between actual results and standard costs; provide root cause analysis and corrective actions.

• Support working capital management, with a focus on inventory control and cash flow.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and local accounting regulations.

Business Partnering

• Partner with operations to identify cost savings opportunities and efficiency improvements.

• Provide financial training to plant management and operational teams to enhance financial literacy and cost control.

• Cross functional liaison between the different Plant controllers within all Plants in the division.

Organization

• Reporting to the CFO of BMT Aerospace

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration.

• 5-7 years of progressive Plant or Jr. Business Controlling experience, ideally with international exposure.

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis a must with experience in financial modelling

• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach and the ability to connect financial data to strategic impact.

• Advanced skills in ERP systems (SAP preferred), Excel.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills in Dutch/English.

• Flexibility to travel ~5-10%.
