Position Summary:
The AGC Grain Milling operator, Swing Shift, is responsible for the operations portion of the plant that includes following food safety regulations and guidelines. Monitors and operates process control equipment, including valving, packaging, and engineering. Interprets plant procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and perform changeovers on cleaning line equipment to support efficient production.
- Clean and sanitize production lines between product runs and after each completed run.
- Review product specifications and configure machinery to meet production requirements.
- Inspect production lines and surrounding work areas to ensure cleanliness and remove any obstructions.
- Monitor product line components, labels, and machine settings, and report quality concerns to the supervisor.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and distinguish between material defects and equipment malfunctions.
- Monitor and adjust production equipment to maintain safety, quality, and production efficiency.
- Complete all required production paperwork accurately at the end of each product run and workday.
- Meet or exceed established production goals while following quality and safety standards.
- Cross-train and assist in other production areas as needed.
- Serve as the backup for the CPLT Operator in their absence.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food manufacturing, quality, or a related production environment.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot production equipment.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English for recordkeeping, safety, and quality training.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Certifications/Licenses
- Forklift operating experience preferred.
Preferred
Qualifications
- Knowledge of lot numbering systems.
- Experience operating production equipment in a food manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience performing equipment troubleshooting and changeovers.
Working Conditions
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, including up to 8-hour shifts.
- Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, and other physical movements throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to production equipment and noise.
