Job Description

The Buyer is responsible for executing purchasing activities for assigned raw materials, ensuring timely and accurate inbound flow to support production schedules. This role maintains RM data accuracy, coordinates with suppliers and internal teams, and supports cost, quality, and service expectations. The Buyer contributes to raw material inventory health through daily transactional activities and basic reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute purchase orders for assigned raw materials and monitor delivery status.
  • Follow up late, at-risk, or incomplete POs and communicate impacts to site stakeholders.
  • Issues supplier non‑conformances for quality or delivery discrepancies.
  • Perform RM transactional corrections, and basic inventory verification.
  • Support cycle count accuracies and annual physical inventory processes.
  • Assist with inter‑site transfer coordination to balance RM levels.
  • Support efforts to reduce demurrage/detention through timely follow-up and dock alignment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree or four (4) years of work experience in purchasing, scheduling, buying, operations and clerical
  • Must have at least one (1) years of work experience in purchasing, supply chain, logistic, purchasing or scheduling
  • Have a bachelor’s degree or higher in supply chain management
  • Have at least two (2) years of work experience in purchasing, supply chain, logistics, purchasing or scheduling

Preferred Qualification:

  • Have completed formal training in and/or have at least one (1) year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.  
  • Have prior work experience using MRP (Material Resource Planning) and MPS (Material Production Scheduling) systems  
  • Have prior work experience in procurement, buying, and/or scheduling  
  • Have at least one (1) year experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility  
  • Prior work experience using planning software such as QAD, Oracle, or SAP
