All About The Role

Plant Buyer will be responsible for strategic sourcing of raw materials and components of a specified quality, and at a competitive price in accordance with the planned production schedules. This role will include managing current suppliers’ Quality, Delivery and Cost performance of either mechanical, gas, chemical or electrical commodities or a combination of these.

Working with the Commodity Manager and the Plant Purchasing Manager, you’ll ensure we have the right tools, components and consumables, where and when we need them. That means developing and maintaining great relationships with stakeholders, knowing our business inside out and understanding suppliers so that you can negotiate with confidence. You’ll also enthuse our partners and suppliers with a passion for our purpose, so that they too share our focus on delivering for our customers.

What You’ll Do

• Comply with all safety, quality and environmental procedures and practices within their area of work.
• Cross Functional Projects: Provide necessary support to new product introduction teams by completing necessary project tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
• Management of Current Suppliers: Ensure all current suppliers are meeting contractual performance requirements.
• Introduction of New Suppliers: Introduce new suppliers to Electrolux Cooking Plant which deliver higher levels of supplier performance in the areas of cost, quality and reliability.
• Information and Systems Management: Ensure the integrity of supplier data bases, e.g. cost
• Component Safety: Ensure compliance to all safety procedures
• Team Performance: Assist the Purchasing Manager to develop and maintain supportive environment amongst the purchasing team.
• Communication: Ensure personal effectiveness through participation in team or cross functional communication.

Qualification:

• A high degree of Value Analysis techniques and Quality Control functions.
• A full appreciations of Value Analysis techniques and Quality Control functions.
• Collaboration and liaison skills in respect to internal personnel – Engineer, Quality, Production and Production Control
• Good computer application skills. (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
• Ability to represent the organisation with integrity and professionalism.
• Possess tertiary qualifications in relevant field of business or engineering

You will be based at the Hangzhou plant.
