Silgan Containers is seeking a Plant Accountant to provideplant‑levelmanufacturing accounting and financeexpertiseat our Hoopeston, Illinois,manufacturing facility. This rolefocuses oncost accounting, inventory control, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and SOX internal controls within a structured manufacturing environment.

The Plant Accountant reports to the Plant Manager and partners closely with plant operations and corporate finance to ensureaccuratereporting, strong internal controls, and effective financialsfor manufacturing operations.Compensation for this IL-based positionrangesfrom $85,000 to $95,000 per year and is based on experience, education, and skills.

WhatYou’llDo as a Plant Accountant

• Assistwithinventory accuracy, including quarterly physical inventories, audit cadence, and variance resolution

• Managemonthlyclosing, plant financial statements, and standardized financial reportingin accordance withcorporate timelines

• Prepare budgeting, forecasting, and annual operating plan submissions

• Maintain standard costs, cost accounting processes, and bills of materials (BOMs)

• Managecompliance with SOX internal controls andmaintainaudit readiness

• Participate in production meetings and conduct regular plant walkthroughs

• Partner with plantmanagementon manufacturing finance and cost management

• Provideday‑to‑dayoversight of the plant accounting clerk and plant planner

• Collaborate with corporate financeonreporting accuracy and control compliance

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in AccountingorFinance,

• 3–5 years of manufacturing accounting or manufacturing finance experience

• Strongknowledgeof cost accounting, inventory controls, andmonth‑endclose

• Working knowledge of GAAP principles

• ExperiencewithSOX‑aligned or internal control environments

• Detail‑oriented, organized, andprocess‑focusedwork style

• Comfortable managing plant accounting duties with minimal supervision

• Strong ability to meet deadlines while working collaboratively

• Prior peoplemanagementexperience preferred

• JD Edwards or ERP system experience preferred

Work Schedule and Expectations

• Standard plant schedule: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (30‑minute lunch) or 7:00 am – 4:00 pm (1‑hour lunch)

• Flexibility required duringthe month-endclosing, typically through 5:00 pm

• Minimal travel up to 10% annually for accounting or leadership meetings

• Regularon‑siteinteraction with plant operations and corporate partners
