As the Planning & Reporting Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in delivering budgets, forecasts and high-quality performance reporting for Kmart Group. You’ll turn financial results into clear insights by explaining variances, identifying risks and opportunities and supporting effective cost control across the business.


You’ll also contribute to critical external and executive requirements, including Wesfarmers Investor Relations deliverables and Board reporting for both Kmart Group and Wesfarmers. This role partners closely with senior stakeholders to ensure our financial story is accurate, consistent and supports confident, future focused decision making.

Please note this role is a fixed term contract opportunity ending April 30 2027.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the preparation and delivery of Kmart Group budgets and monthly/annual forecasts.
  • Preparing clear, accurate reporting on performance, including variance analysis, risks, opportunities and cost insights.
  • Managing period‑end cost reporting and reviews, and identifying ways to drive cost improvements.
  • Coordinating inputs and submissions for Wesfarmers Investor Relations requirements.
  • Supporting the preparation of Board papers for both Kmart Group and the Wesfarmers Board.
  • Working closely with Finance, Commercial and Business stakeholders to ensure high quality, timely financial outputs.


To Be Successful in This Role, You’ll Have

  • A bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance, with CA or CPA qualification.
  • 3–5 years experience in financial accounting, financial control or FP&A.
  • Strong budgeting and forecasting capability, with experience preparing periodic financial reporting.
  • Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Experience in the use of Financial Systems (eg: SAP, TM1, OST) including accounting and general ledger experience
  • Clear understanding of GAAP and executive/management reporting requirements.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to work effectively across Finance, Commercial and broader business teams.
  • Confidence working to tight deadlines, with strong planning, prioritisation and attention to detail.
