ABOUT LIQUOR & CANNABIS

The Liquor & Cannabis Division resides within Business Development and supports innovative and progressive developments in AGLC’s liquor and cannabis businesses. AGLC is responsible for managing the supply chains of both lines of business in Alberta and all aspects of AGLC’s role in ensuring product fulfillment to downstream private retail enterprises. For Cannabis this includes evaluating incoming products, inventory management, and ensuring the highest quality of products are provided to Albertans. For Liquor this includes registration of liquor products, onboarding and supporting Alberta liquor manufacturers, and performing customs clearances for all liquor imported into the province. The division ensures adherence to applicable federal and provincial legislation and works closely with manufacturers, suppliers, agencies, licensed producers, liquor and cannabis licensees, and related associations. The division is supported by two branches: Stakeholder Management and Supply Chain & Warehousing.

JOB SUMMARY

The Liquor & Cannabis Division of AGLC is looking for a highly organized administrative professional to join its team.

Reporting to the Manager, Planning & Reporting, the Planning & Reporting Administrator provides operational and administrative support to AGLC’s Class E Liquor Manufacturers. Serving as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders, this role helps ensure the efficient delivery of products, supplier, and industry support services. The position is integral to maintaining data integrity, coordinating industry communications, and supporting business processes that enable timely, accurate, and effective service delivery across the liquor line of business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manufacturer onboarding and stakeholder support Guide prospective and newly licensed Class E liquor manufacturers through Alberta requirements, compliance, AGLC setup, relationship development, website profile maintenance, Annual Worldwide Production reviews, and JDE Address Book updates.
• Issues management Independently address concerns from existing manufacturers, maintain website information, explain sales and financial reporting processes, coordinate complex enquiries across divisions, and follow up on payment discrepancies.
• Reporting and analysis Track pending and approved Class E manufacturers, prepare monthly reports, compile liquor data and statistics, and present notable findings to management and senior leadership.
• Program administration Oversee liquor samples and airline liquor mark-up activities, including reviewing calculations, declarations, invoices, debit and credit notes, taxes, freight, GST, payment timing, hospitality-room charges, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Projects, collaboration, and leadership coverage Support special projects, manuals, service, process, and technology improvements; collaborate across AGLC to strengthen processes and customer experience; and assume supervisory duties when the manager is absent.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Business Administration diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three years related experience
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook, JD Edwards
• Exceptional relationship building skills
• Conflict resolution skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Deadline-focused with the ability to handle high pressure situations.
• High level of accuracy (detailed-oriented)

• Strong understanding of the Class E Liquor Manufacture setup process is considered an asset
