Department Overview

Since its founding in 1997, Rakuten has expanded its business scale centered on its shopping mall business, Rakuten Ichiba, and credit card business, Rakuten Card. We have also successfully launched a new telecommunications business, Rakuten Mobile. Based on these three pillars, Rakuten has grown to ¥2.3 trillion in group revenue by fiscal year 2024.

The Organization Planning Department, to which this position belongs, is a human resources function directly under Ad & Media Company, and is responsible for leading organizational development from the perspectives of both management and employees. The overall goal is to improve productivity from a management perspective, and to improve motivation and vitality (engagement) from an employee perspective. By combining alignment with management strategy, the situation of each organization, and the aspirations of employees, we will plan and promote measures to maximize the performance of the entire business.

In the group's overall growth strategy, the advertising business has been positioned as a new pillar, and we are entering a critical phase of business expansion. Accordingly, strengthening our human resources and organizational aspects is essential, and we have created this new position to promote "aggressive human resources" that connects management and the field.We are looking for someone who can quickly develop and promote a system that will enable both the company and its employees to grow based on a new strategy.

The Organization Planning Section is in the start-up phase and currently has one organization head and one staff member. Three new staff members will be hired, bringing the total to five.

Position Details

1.HR System Planning & Design

- Planning, design, implementation, and operation of HR systems (evaluation, compensation, grading, career development, training, retention, etc.)

- Planning, implementation, and operation of employee career development programs

-I dentifying challenges related to talent development and retention, and formulating/executing solutions

- Planning, design, and promotion of talent management programs (talent identification, development, placement, evaluation, and promotion)

- Planning and execution of productivity improvement initiatives leveraging AI and systems

2.Promotion of Recruitment & Development Initiatives

- Planning and execution of talent acquisition strategies essential for business growth

- Design and operation of training programs by hierarchy and function

3.Executive Support

- Serving as an HR Partner to managing officers and business leaders

- Creating reports and proposing initiatives directly linked to management strategy

4.HR Data Analysis & Insight Generation

- Analyzing employee surveys and HR data to report and make recommendations to management and business leaders

- Planning new initiatives by integrating data and employee feedback

- Age Range: 20s to 40s

- Ratio: More than half are mid-career hires

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experienced Hire: Experience in HR planning at a business company, or project promotion experience at an HR consulting firm.

- Potential Hire: No prior experience required. Strong motivation to build a career in the HR domain is highly valued.

Desired Qualifications:

‐ Experience in one of the following areas: talent development, recruitment, or organizational development

‐ Problem-setting and problem-solving skills

‐ Logical communication skills

‐ Candidates from consulting firms or training companies are welcome

‐ English proficiency (potential for collaboration with overseas group companies)
