Tātaki Auckland Unlimited is Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s cultural, events and destination agency. We’re looking for an experienced Planning & Performance Manager to join our Marketing, Communications & Growth team for a fixed-term opportunity due to parental leave cover. This is a leadership role focused on leading the way we plan, deliver and measure our work.


You’ll support the Director, and team leads to set clear priorities, improve coordination, streamline processes, and ensure we’re delivering impactful marketing and communications activity. You’ll also help embed tools, ways of working, and practices that make it easier for our marcomms, creative and commercial teams to do their best work.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Solid experience (10+ years) in marketing, communications, operations or client services within agencies or large in-house teams

  • A strong understanding of the marketing, communications and creative process

  • Proven ability to drive change, improve planning and workflow, and embed better ways of working

  • A high level of organisation, problem solving and prioritisation skills

  • Strong relationship and communication skills – confident working with senior leaders and cross-functional teams

  • Comfort working in dynamic, matrixed environments with multiple stakeholders and workstreams

  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. Asana or similar)

  • Commercially minded and comfortable with forecasting and managing budgets.

  • Research and insights experience advantageous

  • A collaborative, pragmatic mindset and the ability to get things done
