PLANNING, MONITORING & EVALUATION, ACOUNTABILITY AND LEARNING (PMEAL) INTERN

Contract type: Fixed term – 40 hours per week

Location: Kigali, Rwanda

About the team

WaterAid Rwanda (WARw) works through supporting local organizations and government to plan and implement inclusive and sustainable services of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH). WARw also seeks to influence the policy change through government and other key WASH stakeholders to secure and protect the right of poor people to safe, affordable water and sanitation services. Occupying the position of Business development in WaterAid is an exciting opportunity to work with WaterAid and contribute to the achievement of the national and global goals towards realizing the WASH access for everyone everywhere.

About the role

As our PMEAL Intern , you will provide essential operational and technical support to sustain the PMER cycle (Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting), improve data quality and timeliness, and strengthen documentation and learning processes and work closely with all Country Programme staff to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

• Support routine data management and M&E processes
• Assist in programme monitoring and reporting.
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge management, including capturing lessons learned, case studies, success stories
• Assist the PMEAL manager as per request and represent the department where necessary/delegated

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree (or final year) in Statistics, Economics, Development Studies, Public Health, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of M&E frameworks, project cycle management, and data collection methods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with digital data tools (e.g. Kobo Toolbox, Power BI, mWater, or similar) is an added advantage

Although not essential, we’d prefer you to have:

• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills; interest in development/WASH sector is desirable.
