Job Title – Planning Engineer (Civil)
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and analytical Planning Engineer (Civil) to manage project scheduling, progress tracking, and construction planning activities for real estate development and infrastructure projects. The role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time through effective planning, coordination, and monitoring of all construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Scheduling
Develop detailed project schedules using planning tools and software.
Prepare baseline programs, work breakdown structures (WBS), and milestone plans.
Coordinate with project teams to define timelines, resources, and sequencing of activities.
Update and revise schedules based on project progress and changes.
Progress Monitoring & Reporting
Track project progress against approved schedules and identify delays or risks.
Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
Highlight critical path activities and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records of project timelines and performance metrics.
Coordination & Interface Management
Coordinate with construction, engineering, procurement, and site teams.
Ensure alignment between planning schedules and site execution activities.
Participate in project meetings and provide planning updates.
Resolve scheduling conflicts and support smooth project execution.
Delay Analysis & Risk Management
Identify potential delays and propose mitigation strategies.
Conduct delay analysis and prepare impact assessments when required.
Support extension of time (EOT) claims and contractual submissions.
Monitor risks affecting project timelines and recommend preventive actions.
Resource Planning & Optimization
Assist in planning manpower, materials, and equipment requirements.
Optimize resource allocation to improve project efficiency.
Coordinate procurement schedules with project timelines.
Support cost and time optimization initiatives.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain all planning-related documentation, reports, and schedules.
Ensure compliance with project standards and contractual requirements.
Support audits and project reviews with accurate planning data.
Maintain updated project progress records and dashboards.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
4–10 years of experience in project planning within construction or real estate development projects.
Strong experience in project scheduling and monitoring.
Knowledge of UAE construction practices is an advantage.
