Job Description

GA Telesis Engine Services (GATES) is a full-service engine overhaul and repair station located at the Helsinki International Airport in Vantaa. GATES provides comprehensive commercial engine services including repair and overhaul services for General Electric and CFM International engines. 

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Planning Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing production and maintenance activities related to jet engine MRO operations, ensuring efficient resource utilization, timely delivery, and high operational reliability.

At GATES, we value teamwork and close collaboration, and we work on-site at our office right at the heart of aviation activity – at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.  This is a full-time permanent position in a growing company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the end-to-end maintenance planning process for jet engine maintenance and repair operations
  • Prepare, create, and maintain detailed production and maintenance plans 
  • Optimize and allocate production capacity, machinery, and resources 
  • Monitor and report production progress, identify deviations, and initiate corrective actions 
  • Ensure the timely availability of materials and components required for production and maintenance 
  • Manage the annual production plan 
  • Support the sales organization by assessing workload, production capacity, and forecasted volumes 
  • Develop planning processes and improve data-driven operational management 
  • Manage and optimize jet engine maintenance, overhaul, and repair schedules to ensure on-time delivery
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and additional tasks related to jet engine maintenance 

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in production planning, maintenance planning, operations coordination, or similar tasks
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced technical environment 
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills 
  • Ability to analyse data and support decision-making through reporting and planning insights 
  • Experience in aviation, aerospace, heavy industry, or maintenance operations is considered an advantage
