Summary:
The Planning Engineer serves as the integrated planning owner across multiple operated assets. This role is responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and execution readiness of multi year development plans, integrating drilling and completion schedules with costs, volumes, and economics. The Planning Engineer supports multiple rigs and frac spreads simultaneously and acts as the primary planning liaison across Asset Development, Operations, Finance, and Reserves, translating strategy into executable schedules.
This position requires strong technical planning capability, systems expertise in Actenum DSO and Aries, and the ability to lead cross functional teams through complex, multi asset planning challenges.
Key Responsibilities
I. Development Planning & Scheduling
- Own and maintain multi year rig, frac, construction and facility build schedules across multiple assets and development areas.
- Support concurrent execution across multiple rigs, ensuring readiness across drilling, completions, facilities, midstream, land, water, and regulatory disciplines.
- Lead cross functional alignment to deliver executable, resource constrained development plans.
II. Forecasting & Economic Integration
- Integrate schedules with production, capital, and cash flow forecasts.
- Develop and maintain integration between Actenum DSO and Aries to rapidly assess production, capital, and cash flow impacts of schedule changes, while continuously enhancing DSO capabilities to support faster, more comprehensive economic evaluation.
- Support scenario evaluation and schedule optimization to inform development and capital allocation decisions.
III. Performance, Reporting & Reviews
- Publish asset level schedules and maintain a consolidated corporate development schedule with defined cadence and ownership.
- Partner with Asset Development teams to prepare materials for internal and leadership reviews.
- Ensure planning outputs are clear, consistent, and decision ready.
IV. Risk, Governance & Process Improvement
- Ensure schedules account for regulatory, surface, capacity, and timing constraints, with risks and obligations clearly documented.
- Drive automation and process improvement across planning workflows to improve transparency, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Serve as a power user of Actenum DSO, Power BI, Excel, SQL, and Aries.

QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics or related STEM discipline.
- 6+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas planning, development, or operations.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining integrated development schedules across multiple assets and rigs.
- Strong working knowledge of Actenum DSO, Excel, and data or visualization tools. Aries and PowerBi knowledge preferred.
- Proven ability to lead cross functional teams and communicate complex planning concepts clearly.
