You as a Planning and Scheduling Coordinator will:

  • Assist in development of a full Critical Path Method (CPM) logic generated baseline schedules for projects.
  • Attend the planning and scheduling preparation process sessions during pursuits and assist in responding to RFP documents for projects.
  • Participate in evaluating the construction progress and performing regular progress updates (bi-weekly or monthly) and assist in preparing the reports for evaluation of the schedule health
  • Prepare and maintain the project schedule log on a regular basis.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining a database of construction productivity rates, procurement durations, lead times and project risk items
  • Assist in identifying unplanned events (new changes/ unforeseen conditions) and incorporate their impacts into the schedule
  • Assist in developing as-built versus as-planned schedules to provide a manageable “snapshot” comparison of the project schedule

Is this the right role for you?

  • 12 months - 2 years of construction scheduling experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
  • Familiar with different types of project delivery methods such as Lump Sum, Design Build, Construction Management and Unit Price.
  • Understand the installation of major construction elements such as Building Structure (Concrete and Steel), Building Enclosure, Fit out, MEiT, Commissioning and project close-out.
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling related software such as: Oracle-Primavera P6, MS Project, and other scheduling related software.
  • Understand the submittal process and assist in identifying major/key elements to be tracked and prioritized based on site installation timing requirements.
  • Understand the concepts of Integrated Phased Planning (IPP)
  • Familiar with the Lean Construction and Last Planner concepts.
  • Familiar with methodology of construction sequencing, and other scheduling philosophies.
  • Familiar with the quantity take-offs, and ability to apply productivity factors to determine activity durations
  • Ability to actively communicate with site team/stakeholders on data needed to fulfill the schedule update requirements on a regular basis during the life cycle of the project
  • Training through AACE or PMI scheduling modules, designation as PSP or PMI-SP are both considered assets
