Planner/Scheduler Maintenance - Clinton, IA

The Planner/Scheduler develops detailed work plans and schedules for maintenance/ project activities. This role works closely with maintenance, operations, engineering, procurement, supervisors, and contractors to ensure work is properly scoped, prioritized, planned, and executed with minimal disruption to production or business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and clarify work order requests or notifications.
  • Develop detailed job plans, including labor, materials, tools, equipment, permits, and safety requirements.
  • Estimate labor hours, craft needs, and job duration.
  • Identify required parts and materials and ensure availability before work is scheduled.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and vendors for materials or outside services.
  • Build daily, weekly, and outage/shutdown schedules.
  • Prioritize work based on safety, production impact, reliability, compliance, and business needs.
  • Coordinate with operations and maintenance leadership to align on work timing.
  • Track schedule compliance, backlog, delays, and job completion.
  • Update CMMS systems such as SAP, Maximo, or similar systems.
  • Support continuous improvement by improving job plans, reducing downtime, and increasing wrench time.
  • Communicate schedule changes, risks, and resource conflicts to stakeholders.

  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple jobs and changing demands.
  • Knowledge of maintenance, reliability, or project work processes.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or facility systems depending on the role.
  • Experience using CMMS systems.
  • Ability to read drawings, manuals, BOMs, and equipment documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.

Common Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical degree, trade background, or maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, operations, or project coordination preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Maximo, Microsoft Project, Excel, or scheduling tools is often preferred.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$58,100.00 - $108,000.00
