Job Description

Join Our Team as a Materials Planner & Buyer

We’re looking for a proactive, detail‑driven professional to help keep our U.S. Distribution Center (USDC) running at its best. In this role, you’ll take ownership of planning and purchasing both service and production parts—work that directly supports our variable production lines and our service customers.

You’ll thrive here if you enjoy working independently, thinking critically, and making well‑reasoned decisions. Every day, you’ll be responsible for planning material needs, releasing and executing purchase orders, and ensuring inventory flows smoothly and on time. Because many of the parts you’ll manage are high‑value and high‑volume, your judgment will have a real and immediate impact on our operations and working capital.

This role is also highly collaborative. You’ll work closely with production teams, warehouse operations, suppliers, and cross‑functional partners to anticipate needs, solve problems, and keep communication flowing. A team‑oriented mindset is essential—you’ll be part of a group that relies on each other to maintain accuracy, efficiency, and service excellence.

Attention to detail is critical. Strong performance keeps production moving, inventory healthy, and customers satisfied. Missed signals or delays can lead to downtime and service disruptions, so we’re looking for someone who takes pride in getting it right and values working with others to achieve shared goals.

If you’re motivated by meaningful responsibility, enjoy solving problems, and want to be part of a supportive, collaborative team that values accuracy and accountability, we’d love to meet you.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

We’re looking for someone who brings a strong foundation in planning, analysis, and operational support. You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university; or
two to three years of related experience or training; or
an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of ERP/MRP planning experience in a manufacturing environment (highly desirable).

KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

Success in this role comes from a blend of analytical strength, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. We’re looking for someone who can bring:

  • A detail‑driven approach and the ability to work logically within planning systems while acting with urgency to support production needs.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to create reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Confidence presenting information and responding to questions from managers, clients, customers, and cross‑functional teams.
  • Demonstrated MRP‑based problem‑solving skills and the ability to think through complex planning scenarios.
  • The ability to solve practical problems and manage multiple variables under time‑sensitive conditions.
  • Comfort interpreting instructions delivered in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule formats.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex data and turn it into actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with process‑improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Kanban, or 5S (a plus).
  • A collaborative, team‑oriented mindset—someone who communicates openly, works well across functions, and contributes to a positive team environment.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To support daily planning and purchasing activities, you should be comfortable with:

  • Microsoft Windows, Word, PowerPoint, and intermediate‑level Excel
  • ERP systems such as ERP LN, SAP (preferred), or equivalent platforms

SCREENING REQUIREMENTS:

To ensure compliance and maintain a secure operating environment, this role requires:

  • A credit report
  • Standard background screening
  • Drug screening
