Job Description

This position is located at the Steel Fab Facility in Florence, S.C.

Electric Boat – Florence is seeking individuals who are ready to work in a fast paced production environment, performing various planning and production control functions in support of D879 and D779 operations departments.

Production Control Planning offers job security and exciting advancement opportunities for individuals seeking a long-term career path at Electric Boat.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Monitoring construction schedules
  • Work Order Processing and execution of both active and future workload requirements.
  • Controlling work orders/packages (plan ERs, MEPs, NCR, fixtures, consumables material, production material, etc.)
  • Assisting Operation Supervisors in identifying and prioritizing shop/work cell capacity
  • Collecting and reporting status of job progress
  • Reporting close-out/completion of jobs
  • Maintaining electronic work package status
  • Performing tactical problem solving
  • Strong team-building skills and communication skills are required, to work collaboratively with both Planning and Operations
  • Working with Detail Planning/Planning to support construction schedule
  • Working with EB warehousing to issue material
  • Interaction with WPPD's group for discrepancies as required
  • Incorporating problem resolutions into work instructions

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of Planning/Manufacturing/Logistics experience
  • Able to work in a manufacture environment that requires climbing and moving in tight spaces
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Must be able to pass background check for Secret Clearance

Preferred:

  • Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management Preferred
  • Military/Navy experience
  • Familiarity with construction sequencing, packaging, outfitting of sub-assemblies, ship readiness and major units of manufacturing work
  • Previous EB experience or similar manufacturing operations/planning experience
  • A working knowledge of Material Requirements Planning principles and systems awareness of EWP/PCM/ APICS involvement is a plus
  • Knowledge of various ERP software systems
