UGL provides engineering, construction, and maintenance services across industries including oil and gas, power, renewables, resources, water, defence, and telecommunications, in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment.

The Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail (LGC) Project will double the number of rail tracks and upgrade stations for a section of the Gold Coast Line between Kuraby, a suburb approximately 16km south of Brisbane’s CBD, and Beenleigh, a suburb of Logan City.

About the role

Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules to ensure alignment with the master schedule and project objectives. The position supports the Planning Manager and team in delivering accurate progress reporting, schedule analysis, and timely updates, while ensuring compliance with project controls, policies, and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and update detailed construction programs in alignment with the master schedule and project baseline.

  • Monitor and track project progress, ensuring alignment with project milestones and flagging potential variances or delays.

  • Input and maintain accurate as-built data and ensure schedules reflect ongoing project developments.

  • Assist in preparing progress reports, program updates, and schedule risk analyses for the Planning Manager and Senior Planner.

  • Support the review and validation of subcontractor programs, ensuring compliance with project standards and requirements.

  • Perform analysis of schedule impacts, delays, and risks, and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.

  • Assist in the production of time impact assessments for potential variations or delays submitted by subcontractors.

  • Support monthly program reviews and ensure project deliverables meet agreed timelines.

  • Routinely liaise with the Senior Planner to escalate issues and align on strategies for program improvements.

  • Collaborate effectively with the Planning Manager, Senior Planner, and delivery teams to align project schedules

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering or another relevant degree

  • Previous experience in project planning and scheduling on large-scale infrastructure or rail projects.

  • Proficiency in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and MS Project

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and project management frameworks.
