Job Title: Planner Scheduler

Reporting directly to Planning & Scheduling Lead, the Planner Scheduler is responsible for developing, critically evaluating, and maintaining detailed Level 4 and Level 5 schedules that feed into the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for the Eskay Creek Revitalization Project. As the project advances through construction, commissioning, and into operations, the role will transition to supporting sustaining capital projects following mill startup.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Schedule Planning, Development & Analysis

  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed Level 4 and Level 5 schedules that integrate seamlessly into the overall Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Ensure schedules are properly resource-loaded where applicable; identify over- and under-resourcing and develop practical leveling plans to support constructability.
  • Perform "what-if" scenario analyses to evaluate the impact of proposed changes on the overall project schedule and critical path.
  • Monitor progress against the baseline schedule, proactively identify potential delays, and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with the project team.
  • Review project drawings, execution plans, environmental plans, procurement timelines, and contracts to maintain a thorough understanding of project scope and interfaces.

Stakeholder Coordination & Project Integration

  • Collaborate closely with Construction, Mining and Mill Operations, Engineering, and Project Controls teams to incorporate progress updates, forecasts, and change impacts into the IMS.
  • Coordinate with third-party stakeholders, including suppliers, engineers, and contractors, to integrate their scopes into the IMS and support adherence to committed timelines.
  • Work with project managers to support effective allocation of labour, materials, and equipment.

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare clear, actionable weekly and monthly schedule reports highlighting changes, float variances, risk areas, opportunities, and items requiring management attention.
  • Present schedule status, critical path updates, and key changes to project leadership and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Track critical activities and keep management informed of emerging issues that could affect project delivery.

The Ideal Candidate

Education / Qualifications:

  • A diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field is desirable
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Experience / Skills

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a Planner Scheduler role in mining, oil and gas or heavy civil environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Primavera P6.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Level 4/5 schedules on large-scale mining, heavy industrial, or infrastructure projects.
  • Solid understanding of project controls, including Earned Value Management, resource loading, and critical path analysis.
  • Ability to communicate complex schedule information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working across Construction, Engineering, Operations, and external contractors.
  • Detail oriented with excessive attention to detail

Work Location & Conditions

This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.     

The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena’s Travel Policy.    

There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.      

Compensation


The expected salary range for this position is CAD 120,000-135,000, in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
