Planner SchedulerReporting to the Director of Operations (Northern Buildings Group), the Planner/Scheduler is responsible for working closely with the commercial and operations groups on planning, scheduling, forecasting, and schedule risk management. They will ensure the project schedule is effectively managed through the various phases of construction for the project.
This role will be based out of the south Edmonton office.
Lead baseline schedule development and maintenance effort. Validate baseline information
Assist the Project Manager to update schedule on a weekly basis, by assessing actual work done in the field and analyze effort expended. Perform critical path analysis
Provide analysis of schedule data to identify key project issues
Assist in coordinating schedule inputs from all parts of the project
Identify and analyze schedule variances and recommend associated corrective actions
Assist the Project Manager to present the project schedule to the client
Participate in the development of WBS and help ensure project coding is effectively used for all applications
Expert ability to utilize drawings and specifications as a basis for structuring the project schedule
Assist the Project Manager to measure progress and review the subcontractor’s progress.
Review subcontract schedule status and provide the Project Manager and Senior Management with input on subcontract performance
Conduct or assist in performance measurement and associated schedule trends
Lead the preparation of various levels of project reports to meet project needs
Lead project planning and scheduling review meetings
Ensure internal and external deadlines are met consistently
Lead the business in the development of a productivity database for self-perform and subcontractor productivity rates
Track productivity on self perform work
Assist the regional teams setting pursuit strategies related to project schedules as directed
What We Are Looking For
Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Technology or a combination of equivalent skills and field
10 years’ experience within a project controls group, construction management and scheduling
Engineering and commercial construction experience
Healthcare project experience would be an asset
Advanced Primavera 6, MS Project and Excel skills
Seasoned knowledge in the application of earned value, critical path analysis and risk assessment
Experience in all aspects of project scheduling including logic development, progress measurement, schedule impact analysis, resource loading/leveling, schedule risk analysis, etc.
Proven ability to develop and assess change order impacts to baseline schedule
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well independently and develop positive relationships with diverse personalities and work force
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
