Planner-Electrical

The Electrical Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and preparing all electrical maintenance work to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution. This position develops detailed job plans, identifies labor and material requirements, creates work packages, and supports scheduling activities to maximize equipment reliability and plant productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Review, prioritize, and plan electrical maintenance work requests.
• Develop detailed work packages including:
• Conduct field inspections to verify job scope and requirements.
• Create and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance plans.
• Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and contractors to ensure work readiness.
• Identify and procure required materials, parts, and services.
• Maintain accurate bills of materials (BOMs) and equipment records within the CMMS.
• Support outage, turnaround, and capital project planning activities.
• Develop and monitor weekly and monthly maintenance schedules.
• Assist in backlog management and work prioritization.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, electrical codes, and company policies.
• Participate in reliability improvement initiatives and root cause failure analysis.
• Track and report planning and scheduling performance metrics.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce downtime and maintenance costs.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Industrial electrical maintenance practices.
• Electrical distribution systems, MCCs, switchgear, motors, VFDs, PLCs, and instrumentation.
• Preventive and predictive maintenance principles.
• CMMS systems such as Oracle EAM, SAP, Maximo, eMaint, or similar.
• Ability to read and interpret:
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams).

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.

Performance Expectations

• Improve work order planning effectiveness.
• Increase schedule compliance.
• Reduce maintenance delays caused by material or planning issues.
• Improve equipment reliability and plant uptime.
• Support a zero-incident safety culture.

Experience

• 5+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience preferred.
• Previous planning, scheduling, supervision, or reliability experience preferred.
• Experience working in chemical, manufacturing, power generation, pulp & paper, mining, or similar industrial environments preferred.

Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check as conditions of employment.

This is a full-time maintenance job working 40 hours a week (4/10's). No per diem and no relocation funding.

Employees must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet all customer, site, regulatory, medical, and fitness-for-duty requirements applicable to the position.
