Overview

The Planner is responsible for supporting the growth of Aldo North America through sales planning and inventory management. This role will help manage the in-season and future planning of sales, markdown, and profit/contribution, with an additional focus on inventory management and assortment strategy, aligned with the financial target. This role reports to the Director of Planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the Global purchasing process to ensure on-time deliverables to all markets, while striving to have better business understanding and increased efficiencies.
  • Execute purchasing plans to meet Sales and Operating goals.
  • Recommend resolutions to resolve supply issues to maximize on-time delivery.
  • Executes tracking and adjustments in response to a variety of supply and demand inputs.
  • Analyze the global buys against production requirements to achieve maximum sales with minimal inventory exposure (i.e., dropped styles, minimum buy management).
  • Works with Sourcing to manage delivery issues (i.e., delays, constraints) and communicates all relevant issues to all parties involved.
  • Execute decisions that have been made on product flow to support inventory management objectives and to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Monthly reporting of KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum 2/3 years in a wholesale or retail buying position.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information.
  • Strong Excel Skills with the ability to use Excel to analyze large volumes of data.
  • Perform work independently on a large volume of simultaneous projects.
  • Excellent prioritization skills, process optimization and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy and discipline to check work output.
  • Exhibit good knowledge of business operations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present business conclusions to management teams.
  • Ability to partner effectively and work with cross functional teams.
