Job Description

JOB DUTIES:

1. Create and maintain production and delivery schedules for assigned value stream to maximize on-time delivery and production efficiencies (labor, machine, equipment).
2. Reschedule and prioritize shop completion dates as required.
3. Prepare work order packets for production.
4. Track machine utilization as needed
5. Assist with cycle and inventory counts.
6. Ensure accuracy of system transactions in J.D. Edwards.
7. Prepare and maintain progress reports for value stream (KPI, capacity, etc.).
8. Work with managers and other planners to coordinate operation activities between value streams.
9. Work with Purchasing to ensure raw material and purchased parts requirements are met.
10. Participate in weekly planning meetings to review capacity constraints and labor needs.
11. Participate in or potentially lead Continuous Improvement initiatives.
12. Other duties as assigned.

COMPETENCIES

1. Clear understanding of On Time Delivery (OTD) forecasting and scheduling of material requirements. (Business Strategy)
2. Proficient use of Excel Workbooks in order to manage work order data and to provide tools and resources for effective scheduling. (Business Strategy)

Required Education and/OR Experience

1. Two year degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing processes.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

1. Experience with J.D. Edwards ERP a plus.
2. Strong organizational skills.
3. Knowledge of supplies, equipment and outside production services, as well as inventory control of these items.
4. Strong interpersonal skills.
5. Strong computer skills.
6. Proficient in M.S. Office.
7. Lean Manufacturing knowledge a plus.
