Job Description

Purpose and Objective


Reporting to the Sr. Planning Manager, the Planner will support the successful development, communication and execution of sales and inventory strategies through the analysis of historical sales trends, current in-season patterns and future forecasts that support the company’s financial plan. This role requires critical thinking and problem-solving skills, an advanced skillset in Excel and the ability to leverage data and support our evolving business needs.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Create, update and publish weekly performance reporting for the DTC team to identify risks and opportunities across channels, collections, categories and SKUs.
  • Prepare comprehensive business performance decks to share with senior leaders and executives, including any ad-hoc reporting that may arise.
  • Provide daily & weekly sales targets across retail & e-commerce channels to guide teams towards topline financial goals.
  • Manage inventory ladders and projections on a weekly basis for core styles and submit reorder needs at the SKU level to ensure never-out-of-stock in key portions of the business.
  • Collaborate with wholesale partners to maximize inventory turns and revenue by reviewing inventory weekly and making critical decisions to optimize inventory between channels.
  • Partner with Merchandising team to align on SKUs to be planned on replenishment or be taken off replenishment.
  • Contribute to the management of monthly OTB and financial modeling in partnership with the Sr. Planning Manager to support company revenue objectives and ensure we are tracking to targets, identifying any opportunities and mitigating risk.
  • Partner with the Sr. Planning Manager to develop strategic seasonal revenue plans and budgets to support company revenue and targets.
  • Perform size-level analysis and recommend size curves for each category and channel of the business to use in the execution of buy and allocations.
  • Support Allocations team in analysis of replenishment and store transfer opportunities for key revenue-generating styles across all DTC channels.
  • Analyze sales and inventory data on a weekly, monthly and seasonal basis and prepare thoughtful recommendations and strategies that can be implemented effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide strategic decisions based on current sales and inventory information.
  • Aid in establishing best practices within the department for a growing business, ensuring consistency in tools, reporting and communications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in buying, planning, or financial experience, preferably at a vertical fashion retailer.
  • Strong understanding and command of retail math, merchandising financials, and profitability KPIs.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including index match, v lookups, pivot tables, logic formulas and basic macros.
  • Familiarity or experience with ladder or replenishment planning.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to effectively manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and passion/excitement for building new tools and processes.
  • Ability to thrive in team-based settings and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional partners.
  • Previous experience with reporting tools including Tableau, Shopify, NetSuite and CHQ knowledge is a plus.
