THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

Base Salary: CAD $51,383.00 - 79,261.00

The Plan Build Specialist reports to the Manager, Client Onboarding and is primarily responsible for set up including structure, plan design set up, plan changes and plan amendments for new and existing customers. This role primarily supports the Group and Individual lines of business and provides a specialized service.

  • Participate in RFP reviews when required, review sale documents to gain understanding of what was sold, review and interpret previous carrier documents
  • Develop and map plan design on the Plan Design Template (includes details on benefit coverage, structure and billing requirements)
  • Client Meeting facilitation – gather requirements, review documentation and obtain sign off
  • Enter client’s structure and plan design into the Administrative System
  • Collaborate with Client Administration on enrolment requirements, PSOS for rules attachments, Underwriting for financial information and IT for large implementation requirements
  • Interpret and process plan changes and plan amendments, complete plan design analysis, respond to inquiries and manage issue resolution.
  • Review of detailed history reports, complete accumulator mapping template and collaborate with Implementation
  • Services and IT Support
  • Manage multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity, meeting established timeline to complete projects and coordinate with internal stakeholders as required.
  • Peer review work to confirm accuracy and ensure that supporting material is retained.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, administration or related discipline.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in benefits and / or related industries.
  • Proficient in benefit administration issues, claims processes, and group contracts / booklets
  • Excellent issue resolution, decision-making, communication meeting facilitation, and project management skills
  • Experience training and mentoring peers
  • Exhibits consistent attention to detail
  • Strong administrative, reporting, and analytical skills using MS Office tools
  • Ability to multi-task, manage and interpret large amounts of data, work under pressure, and work independently
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn new tasks
