Support student success by ensuring the smooth delivery of clinical placements and professional training in postgraduate psychology and counselling programs at Cairnmillar.

Location: Hawthorn East

The Cairnmillar Institute is seeking a Placement and Projects Officer to join our Student Services team. This pivotal administrative role supports the delivery and coordination of postgraduate psychology and counselling courses, with a strong focus on clinical placements and professional training. You’ll work closely with placement coordinators, students, and academic staff to ensure effective operations across all placement-related processes. As the first point of contact for student placement enquiries, you’ll play a key part in creating a positive student experience, maintaining essential records, supporting compliance, and contributing to the ongoing success of our professional programs. This is a hands-on, varied role ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys working with people, and has a commitment to service excellence.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, education, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience/training)
  • Experience in an administrative role within higher education (ideally in psychology or counselling)
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with office management software and student information systems
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong attention to detail, initiative, and adaptability
  • Commitment to Cairnmillar’s values and providing excellent service

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
