Job Description

A Line Cook at Pizzeria Vetri is responsible for preparing high-quality food in a fast-paced,open-kitchen environment. Responsibilities include executing dishes with precision andconsistency, while upholding the culinary standards and cleanliness expectations of therestaurant. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability towork collaboratively as part of a professional kitchen team.

Role Responsibilities

Technical and Safety Standards

● Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion sizes, andpresentation standards.● Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers,mixers, and food processors.● Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following health and safety regulationsand sanitation standards.● Ensure all food is labeled, dated, and stored correctly to minimize waste and optimizefreshness.● Uphold all safety standards, including proper use of knives, hot surfaces, and cleaningchemicals.● Maintain awareness of food allergies and dietary restrictions, ensuring food is handledwith care.

Team Communication and Collaboration

● Assist with prep work and ingredient stocking to keep the line running smoothlythroughout service.● Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, including prep cooks, dishwashers, andother line cooks, to deliver high-quality dishes on time.● Be flexible and willing to assist with other tasks or fill in for other stations as needed.

Operational Standards

● Monitor food stock levels and communicate shortages or spoilage to kitchen leadership.● Participate in daily cleaning tasks and routine deep-cleaning duties as scheduled.

Role Qualifications

● Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role preferred, especially inhigh-volume or scratch kitchens.● Solid understanding of cooking techniques, knife handling, and kitchen safety.● Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.● Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and food presentation.● Willingness to learn and grow within a professional kitchen setting.● Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.● Must adhere to proper grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

● Fast-paced kitchen with exposure to heat, cold, steam, and cleaning chemicals.● Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.● Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching for extended periods.● May be required to assist in other roles within the restaurant, based on operationalneeds and cross-training.

Pay Range

USD $18.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr.
