Job Description

- Piping Engineer (Stress Analysis & Layout)
About Zeeco:
Zeeco designs and manufactures advanced combustion and environmental solutions for the petroleum, chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries. Our product portfolio includes ultra-low emission burners, flaring systems, and hazardous waste incineration. Headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA, Zeeco operates globally with offices in the USA, UK, South Korea, India, Saudi Arabia, and Japan, supported by world-class manufacturing and research facilities.

Zeeco is seeking a Piping Engineer with 2–8 years of experience, specializing in piping stress analysis and piping layout engineering, to support fired equipment and process equipment projects. The role involves performing piping flexibility and stress analysis, developing piping layouts, reviewing vendor and client documents, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliant, safe, and efficient piping systems aligned with project specifications and applicable industry codes.

Stress Analysis & Engineering:

  • Perform piping stress analysis and flexibility calculations using industry-standard tools (e.g., CAESAR II or equivalent) to ensure compliance with applicable codes such as ASME B31.1 / B31.3
  • Evaluate thermal expansion, support loads, nozzle loads, and equipment interface loads, and recommend appropriate routing, supports, and flexibility solutions.
  • Prepare and review stress reports, load summaries, support requirements, and stress mark-ups for design and fabrication.
  • Coordinate with structural and equipment teams to ensure safe load transfer and compliance with allowable limits.

Piping Layout & Design:

  • Develop and review piping layouts, general arrangement drawings, and 3D models for fired heaters, flares, and process equipment packages.
  • Ensure piping routing is optimized for operability, maintainability, accessibility, and constructability
  • Participate in 3D model reviews with internal teams and clients, and resolve layout and stress-related comments.

Documentation & Technical Coordination:

  • Prepare and review line lists, valve lists, piping material specifications (PMS), and material take-offs (MTOs)
  • Review piping isometrics, vendor drawings, datasheets, and technical documents for compliance with project requirements.
  • Review customer specifications and ensure piping design meets contractual and technical obligations.
  • Track document revisions and ensure timely submission of deliverables.

Cross-Functional & Project Support:

  • Coordinate closely with Project Engineering, Process, Mechanical, Structural, Instrumentation, Procurement, and Drafting teams
  • Provide technical inputs to procurement, fabrication, inspection, and installation teams
  • Review vendor quotations and drawings to ensure technical compliance and alignment with project requirements.
  • Support manufacturing and inspection teams by resolving piping-related technical queries.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2–8 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Fired Equipment, or Process Equipment industries
  • Hands-on experience in piping stress analysis (CAESAR II or similar) and piping layout engineering.
  • Strong understanding of ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, piping design practices, and material specifications
  • Experience with 3D modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D, PDMS, E3D, or similar).
  • Familiarity with fired heaters, flare systems, or skid-mounted process equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, project-driven environment with strong coordination and communication skills.

Key Competencies:

  • Piping stress analysis and flexibility assessment.
  • Piping layout and 3D model review.
  • Knowledge of international piping codes and standards.
  • Vendor and client technical coordination.
  • Detail-oriented documentation and deliverable management.
