Responsible for calibration, maintenance, and repair of KBI pipettes located at KBI facilities located in North Carolina.
Job Responsibilities
Inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pipettes.
Escort and enter documentation from outside vendors.
Assist with administrative related activities for the Metrology department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements
Minimum of 2 to 5 years' experience using pipettes; preferably 2 to 5 years calibrating and repairing single, multi-channel, and repeaters type pipettes.
Strong understanding of pipette mechanics and theory of operation.
Good troubleshooting skills: ability to analyze and diagnose instrument failures.
GMP and good documentation practices knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Results oriented, high level of initiative.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Language Ability
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees and/or clients. Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple efforts independently. Ability to write, follow, issue, and explain clear instructions furnished in written and oral form.
Ability to methodically solve problems to their root causes.
Math Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, standard deviation, and percent. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 60lbs. Frequent sitting with some standing and walking are required in this role.
2.5 Computer Skills
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio). Understanding of database systems. Ideal Candidate will be proficient and experienced in the use and administration of a CMMS (SAP, Maximo, Blue Mountain, IndySoft, etc.).
2.6 Equipment Use
Various Metrology standards, weights, hand tools, and computers.
