We’re currently looking for a Piper AA at our Huhtamaki Plant in Waterville, Maine and you should be within reasonable commuting distance from here.

What you’ll be doing

Job Summary

To maintain, fabricate, install, weld and dismantle all types of pipelines, fittings and hydraulics as required for new construction or maintenance.

Essential Functions to include but not limited to:

  1. Confers with supervisor at the start of each shift to determine work priorities.
  2. Receives instructions, blueprints, and work orders for the job. Develops working procedure for the job, material requirements, scaffolding and other equipment required. Calculates dimensions and bends required for piping.
  3. Installs, bends, cuts, threads, welds, and cuts off piping and shapes and fabricates pipe to the particular requirements for the job.
  4. Inspects and maintains facility piping systems, heating, refrigeration and air conditioning systems, water treatment and sewer systems, burners and heaters.
  5. Sets up and operates various bending, threading, and cutoff equipment.
  6. Installs various types of insulation and pipe covering; removes and disposes old coverings in line with company hazardous waste procedures and EPA and OSHA requirements.
  7. Makes hydraulic pressure test of piping installations. Checks and adjusts controls, gauges, and valves to achieve control of flow of pressure.
  8. Notifies Supervision of potentially dangerous piping systems and corrective actions taken or documented.

What you’ll bring to the role

Qualifications

  1. Technical 2-year associates degree and/or 5 years as a pipefitter in an industrial facility.
  2. Manual dexterity skills
  3. Ability to read and interpret blue prints
  4. Ability to effectively communicate with written and verbal communications
  5. Satisfactory work records including attendance
  6. Ability to pass Huhtamaki hands-on pipefitter test.
  7. Values similar to ours, Care, Dare and Deliver.

Physical Requirements

  1. Visual acuity (corrected) to read directions and prints.
  2. Manual dexterity.
  3. Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping, standing, squatting, bending, crawling, twisting and lifting of 50 pounds.
