Job Description

Audubon is currently seeking a Pipefitter II to join our team in our Off Site Office. The Pipefitter II performs skilled fabrication, assembly, installation, construction, and maintenance of piping through plan interpretation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Selects size and type of pipe and related material according to job specifications.
  • Inspects work sites to determine presence of obstructions and to ascertain that holes will not cause structural weakness.
  • Plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions with pipe spools.
  • Cuts and threads; assembles and installs a variety of metal and nonmetal pipe fittings, including those made of brass, copper, lead, glass and plastic; joins pipe by means of threaded, Caulk, solder, braze, fuse or cement joints; secures pipe to structure with clamps, brackets and hangers; installs and maintains refrigeration and air-conditioning systems including compressors, pumps, meters, pneumatic and hydraulic controls and piping; test piping system for leaks.
  • Will also bolt and torque flanges, to perform test and ensure the quality of the pipe and the piping systems.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:

  • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Related trade school education is preferred.
  • Five years' experience in the construction industry.
  • Five years’ experience pipefitting.
  • Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.
  • Construction safety practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively.
  • Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
  • Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.
